Student-run blog, Cheapiefoody, partners with Makansutra in
Republic Polytechnic’s First Blogger Challenge 2013

Cheapiefoody, one of the participating blogs in Republic Polytechnic's First Blogger Challenge 2013 managed to secure a partnership with Singapore's famous food guide, Makansutra. This partnership aims to to generate traffic for both parties through content sharing.
Cheapiefoody features reviews on affordable food around Singapore. They have a certain criteria when deciding what to blog about:
The Four Food Dimensions.
1) Cheap and Affordable ( $5 and below)
2) Appealing appearances
3) Quality of food ( taste/texture)
4) Mentions/awards on food review magazines.
With just six student writers, Abriel Tay, Sugenya Manogaran, Cristie Kennedy, Jamie Loo, Jonas Tay, Pang Wan Yee, the blog’s content has attracted over 4700 page views ever since the start of the blog on 15 November 2012.
Makansutra is a food company that celebrates the best of Asian food culture and lifestyle. With thousands of viewers, this company has stamped itself as a household name through publications, blogs and even television shows.
Through this partnership, Cheapiefoody and Makansutra will be sharing each other’s articles to reach out to a wider range of audience. Cheapiefoody has also been invited to be a part of Makansutra’s upcoming project.
Republic Polytechnic’s First Blogger Challenge 2013 heralded the sheer excellence in web writing. With a focus on various beats, sixteen teams participated in this challenge. These beats ranged from food to games.
This challenge aims to equip the participants with skills to write, produce and publish exciting content for diverse audiences on the web. A panel of Singapore’s most popular bloggers (Lady Iron Chef is one among the judges) who will judge these blogs based on:
1) Original content
2) Creativity
3) Visual appeal
4) Audience engagement
The winning team will walk away with book prizes and interesting restaurant vouchers.
