One simply cannot enjoy a popiah if the filling keeps falling out of the wrap. At the humble store of TianTian Lai Bo Ping, the aunty wraps the popiah so well that the ingredients does not fall off even when the chopstick is pressed against the delicate skin of the popiah.

With the filling staying in, the popiah would be tough to chew right? Wrong. In contrast with exercising, the popiah requires little effort to chew and is soft and delicious. This probably explains the popularity of the store especially during dinner time where you may see a snaking line. The egg, turnip, peanut, bean sprouts and sweet sauce combines well with the skin to create a savoury explosion in my mouth. The popiah slices are quite thick and one roll of popiah is likely to fill up the stomachs of some people. Not for me though, as I have a fairly large appetite. I enjoy this traditional treat and it is a delight to eat it especially after a tough training session!

  1. This reminds me of my classmate that loves to say the phrase "it's a wrap, it's a wrap!"
